All manuscripts submitted to INDOTERA: Indonesian Dissemination of Engineering and Applied Technology Research Applications will undergo a strict peer-review process to ensure high-quality and scientifically sound publications.

1. Initial Editorial Screening

Submitted manuscripts are first screened by the editorial team to ensure alignment with the journal’s aims and scope, administrative completeness, and adherence to author guidelines. Manuscripts that do not meet these criteria will be rejected without entering the peer review stage.

2. Plagiarism Screening

Manuscripts that pass the initial screening will be subjected to plagiarism detection using specialized software. Submissions with a similarity index above 25% will be rejected or returned to authors for revision.

3. Double-Blind Peer Review

Manuscripts meeting the initial requirements will be reviewed by at least two independent reviewers with expertise relevant to the manuscript's topic. The journal follows a double-blind peer review policy, ensuring that both authors and reviewers remain anonymous throughout the review process.

4. Review Outcomes

Reviewers will provide recommendations based on their evaluation of the manuscript. Possible editorial decisions include:

  • Accept Submission (without revision)

  • Revisions Required (minor revision)

  • Revisions Required (major revision)

  • Decline Submission

The final decision will be made by the Editor-in-Chief based on reviewers’ recommendations and the manuscript’s overall quality and contribution.

5. Author Revisions

Authors are given an appropriate amount of time to revise their manuscript based on reviewer comments. Revised manuscripts must be accompanied by a response to reviewers document, clearly addressing each comment and explaining the revisions made.

6. Final Editing and Galley Proof

Once a manuscript is accepted, the editorial team will perform final editing. A galley proof will be sent to the corresponding author for final approval before publication.

7. Timeline

The peer-review process typically takes between 4 to 8 weeks, depending on the responsiveness of reviewers and the complexity of the manuscript.

Reviewer Ethics

Reviewers must adhere to the following ethical standards:

  • Provide objective, constructive, and timely feedback.

  • Avoid any conflicts of interest with the authors or the content.

  • Maintain the confidentiality of the manuscript throughout and after the review process.

  • Refrain from using any part of the manuscript for personal advantage.
